It was a winding road that led me to the real estate appraisal profession. I graduated from Arizona State University in 1990 with a Bachelor of Fine Arts. Eventually, I began working for a large commercial architecture firm in their construction management department where I learned the 'nuts and bolts' of the architecture business. I've always loved architecture and design and was happy to begin my professional life in this capacity. I learned so much at that first job and went on to work for another architect as well as general contractors. Eventually I moved to Flagstaff where I built my first home and worked for a local home builder. Three years later I was very lucky to land an apprenticeship with a respected Flagstaff appraisal firm. The apprenticeship was a two year process under the guidance of Certified appraisers plus many hours of coursework. I obtained my license in 2004 and began my company, Northern Arizona Appraisal, Inc. in 2006. I became Certified in 2009, which means I can appraise FHA, complex properties over $1,000,000, income residential properties, in addition to single family homes. I returned to Phoenix full time in 2011 and live in one of our treasured historic districts. The restoration of my 1935 home has been a labor or love. Although the name of my company is Northern Arizona Appraisal, I no longer work in the Flagstaff area. My domain and email recently changed to yourphxappraiser.com. I love the fact that I can be self employed and work from home. Although I love appraising in historic Phoenix I also serve the greater Phoenix Metro region, including South Scottsdale, Glendale, Tempe and the South Mountain and Laveen area.
